THE STORY OF RAWNATA

My life changed for the better when I began to make healthier eating choices back in 2003. 

My poor eating choices began to catch up with me when I was a new mom. I was chronically tired, bloated, and suffered from a host of allergies. I wasn't sick, but I also wasn't as healthy as I knew I could be. 

I began to focus my diet on seeds and other whole foods, and before I knew it, my health was improving! In 2003 I began to make whole grain breads and baking to sell at the St. Norbert Farmers Market in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I discovered that there were thousands of people just like me who needed to regain their health.

I turned my attention to learning about raw, vegan food. I was intrigued by the health benefits of hemp seed, which was just starting to go mainstream largely to the efforts of a couple of Manitoba companies just a few miles from me - Manitoba Harvest and Hemp Oil Canada. 

I wanted to do my part in raising awareness of hemp seed - so I went to work seeing what I could create. One of those creations was a little bar made from 5 simple ingredients - the Chocolate Hemp Snacker.

In 2011 my Chocolate Hemp Snackers won the Grand Prize in a provincially run contest called the Great Manitoba Food Fight - and the rest is history! We now have 3 varieties of Hemp Snackers as well as four varieties of Flax Crackers. Try them all and see which ones are your favourites!
